Toilet shopping
When getting ready to buy a toilet there is so much to consider. First make sure you know what rough in toilet your looking for. Second, toilets that are two pieces are nice (in our opinion). Third, you want a great flushing toilet. Forth, you want an easy to clean toilet from the exterior. Fifth, make sure you buy all the unnecessary parts you’ll need to put the unit together, sixth, hire the right guy for the job. If the toilet isn’t installed properly you may have leak slowing under the floor and mold can be created. Out company is very reasonable at installing toilets and other fixtures. Give us a call today and don’t get stuck with the wrong company in your home or commercial space.
It’s not always as easy as it seems
Everyone has their own specialty field they get into. We also tend to trust the people that call themselves “professionals”. When were sick we see the doctor and they give us some sort of medicine or just ease our minds. We go to the dentist to make sure we aren’t getting cavities. Or better yet treat a sore mouth. We hire skilled technicians to come into our homes to fix appliances, heater systems and plumbing clogs and leaks. Remember to not just hire anyone off the internet. Make sure the company has been around for a while and if not as least make sure they have good references. Having a company suggested by a family member or neighbor is always best.
Let the professions do their skilled trade. Hiring a plumber is no different. Plumbing systems are complicated and people tend to think otherwise. Forget for a second how the plumbing systems run but also how to handle cleaning the drains and to not damage anything that’s unforeseen. It’s always safest to hire out someone that knows how to handle the situation. Also, for some reason if something goes south, they know how to repair and fix the issue.

We service many garbage disposals each week. We repair the units and install new ones. Remember when having an issue with your own disposal never put your bare hands in the unit, even if the power is off. Always call a professional and don’t risk your own hand. Sometimes plumbing seems easy but it’s not. Ask yourself, do you clean your teeth professionally? Do you go to the doctor for check-ups? There are several reasons we call and have the professionals do their own work. People always worry about money but when it comes to plumbing hire someone you trust and can count on with their work and price.
Basic information about your main water shut-off valve
Everyone that lives in your home, husband, wife, kids, grandparents, nanny and anyone else should know where to locate your main water shut-off valve. In case of a plumbing emergency this is the most important information to know about at that time. The picture below shows a valve on the street side of the meter. Also, on the pipe further up from the meter there should be another valve to turn the water off as well. If you don’t have another valve you should call your plumber and have one installed. There are many reasons to have two shut-off valves in case of an emergency. Call us today and let us help you before your problem occurs and a disaster happens.
Don’t get left in a flood
Have you ever come home from work seeing water backing up on your basement floor and you don’t know where to turn? If so, your not alone. Many new and old homes both have main lines that need to be cleaned out yearly. Everything from flushing a toilet to using your garbage disposal ends up leaving your houses through your main sewer line. What people don’t realize is that sludge, grease and tree roots grow in your sewer lines. Animals like rats can also end up in your sewer line as well. Not only is cleaning your main sewer line on maintenance cheaper but its better for your pipe as well. Sewer lines that don’t have tree roots should also be cleaned yearly to remove hard built up grease and sludge from your line. Those of you which do have tree roots growing in your line, you should schedule your line be cleaned yearly. Letting tree roots grow and not performing maintenance on your line will let the roots thicken and break your pipe further. Don’t get left in a flood. Call a professional today.

Don’t make it hard to buy a faucet.
People call us up and ask what faucet should i buy for my bathroom sink, bathtub and kitchen sinks. We tell its always smart to look online and find a faucet that has good pressure and also what easy to fix when it needs to be replaced. Now since there are over 20 different brands of faucets people get confused and overwhelmed. When researching for buying a new faucet always get one that has a 4 star rating or higher. Remember this faucet will last a while is you spend a little money. Buying brands that are common is the way to go. Most hardware stores and supply houses care common brands. If you order a specialty faucet you might not be able to get replacement parts when you wish. On the last note faucets that have supply lines attached we try and stay away from. There normally cheap and flimsy and also if the supply line get shot normally that mean the replacement of the faucet as well. I hope you enjoy my posts about plumbing and i’d like to hear back from my fans if this is the kind of plumbing tips that your looking for.
